Death, children's hunger, and the inhumane suffering of the sick child... These are all that's left for us, friends, to save the unfortunate! The communication between the poor baby and his mother is supernatural! Maia always senses just in time where the little one is hurting and drives death away from her child at the very moment when it's ready to take away her beloved son! Maia loves Gocha like no other of her children! His pain is her pain! That's just how the world works! For eight years, all Mom does is save her son from bedsores, peritonitis, pneumonia, sepsis... Mom herself has to guess where and what hurts her son, because Gocha can't talk. He just moans quietly, like a wounded kitten! Most of Gocha's life has been spent in hospitals, and Mom Maia bravely keeps fighting for his life! The child's skin and muscles gradually start to die off from bedsores, and bleeding wounds appear on the body... Not for the faint-hearted to witness!!!

SOS! The recent tragic death of her husband and the severe illness of the youngest child, Gocha, pushed the once happy, large Georgian family to the brink of survival.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

For eight dreadful years, Mom has been fighting for her child! She deserves a monument, especially since she still has two more children to care for! But their poverty due to the loss of the breadwinner is terrifying!

Maia (Gocha’s Mom): When Gocha was born, we were so happy! Our third child had come into the world! But soon, doctors in Tbilisi delivered a devastating diagnosis: the most dreaded one in the world, Ohtahara  syndrome – early-onset epilepsy, cerebral palsy, microcephaly. We were immediately sent to the clinic. And in that clinic, Gocha spent more days over eight years than he did at home!

"Every day, it was getting harder and harder for my little son... There was hardly any healthy skin left on his body!"

My husband adored the children endlessly. That's why he died of grief! And after his passing, coping with all this sorrow became unbearable! Because there's no one to lend us a hand: neither relatives nor close friends...

"Today, I don't always have the money to afford the life-saving medication for my son."

Iza (9 years old, Gocha's sister): "I feed him through a tube in his nose. I administer minced food with a syringe... I help Mom as much as I can, and I love my little brother very, very much."

- What do you manage with the allowances you receive?

Maia: Every month, I have to set aside 700 laris for medications, feeding tubes, diapers, and utilities.  And then whatever is left is for feeding the children. Fortunately, we have kind neighbors. When they see the children have nothing to eat, they either bring us food or invite them over.  But for everything else, my children can only dream... I can't give them anything.

"I understand my son without words. Just one eye movement - and I understand everything."

- Just now you picked up Gocha. Tell the Fund's friends how you knew he wanted that?

Maia: My baby...!!! I understand him through his eyes. Look - he moved his finger - that means he wants to be held (She takes and tenderly kisses the almost dying kitten). When he opens and closes his mouth, like a fish, it means he's asking for food. And when he looks at the window, I know it's time for fresh air.

- How have you come to terms with such a fate? Not everyone can bear such a burden!

Maia:  Do I have the right to die? Whom would I leave my children to? They're most afraid when I say I'm not feeling well. "Mom, mom, don't die!" -  they almost scream with fear. At first, it was scary, but then you realize that only God decides whether to give us a healthy child or a sick one. The dream of my entire life is children. And children are a gift from God.

All the money goes towards Gocha's medication and treatment. Every new day lived by him is the greatest joy in my life! Because I'm a mother and I know how he wants to live!!! But Nikoloz and Iza are deprived of so much because of this! Help them too! They have nothing that children have! What have they done to deserve such fate? Why? And she cried bitterly.

Friends, today it's up to us to decide how this family will live on!  It’s only up to us! They have nowhere else to turn for help!

Healthy children in the family should have what our own children have. Because we all are one family - Georgia!

- What would you like, Iza, Nikoloz?

Iza (9-year-old): Nikoloz won't ask for anything! He's a man. As proud as dad! We both want mom to live! But it's true what mom said - we have nothing... Nikoloz dreams of a bicycle, and I dream of a tablet and dresses. Dad would definitely buy us everything. And one mere thing, auntie - most of all we want to be loved!!!

- And how do Nikoloz and Iza react when Gocha isn't feeling well?

Maia: In the early years, they were little themselves and were becoming very scared of it. But then they got used to it. Now they help me a lot with Gocha.  They can even change diapers and feed him through the tube.

Nikoloz (10-year-old): I'm only scared when he's not well. And the rest of time, I'm always taking care of him. I even hold him when he cries, I pat him, I rock him. Just now his leg hurt a lot. I don't know how it happened, but there was a huge hole there, right on his leg! Around his buttocks. Mom took him to the hospital in Tbilisi, and they treated him there. Oh God, it was so scary!

"For my brother, I'm like a second mom."

- Iza, do you help mom too?

Iza: Sometimes yes, sometimes no. After dad died, I don't want to do anything at all. I miss him a lot, even though he used to scold us.

- What do you think we can do for you and Nikoloz to make you smile, because you both seem very sad...

Iza: Nikoloz is shy and doesn't speak, so I'll say. He wants a bicycle, and I want a tablet. And I also really want a couple of pretty dresses. I know mom will never be able to buy us all that... If she buys us, then Gocha will die, and we can't let that happen. He's so sweet and poor!

"We only have two beds, and they're falling apart."

- I've noted down the children's wishes. Maia, what do you need most urgently right now?

Maia: We urgently need groceries, medications, diapers, feeding tubes, and syringes for Gocha. We also desperately need beds and bedding. You can see for yourselves what we sleep on - they're falling apart. I would also ask for a wheelchair so I can take my poor son outside. Due to the bedsores it's uncomfortable for him to be carried. We also need a wardrobe or a dresser... Oh God, I'm saying so much! I feel embarrassed.

- Maia, what is your biggest fear?

Maia: To lose my son. In his eight years, he's been in the intensive care unit so many times! I never know what tomorrow will bring. I ask God for my son to live a long life. And I ask kind-hearted people: help me do everything necessary for my son. I hope that the Fund will take us under its wing. You have helped so many people. And now, another mother is asking for your help...

Friends! It’s time to act! In our country, thousands of families, like this one, are fighting for the lives of their children, and our government is unable to provide all the necessary support to its most unfortunate young citizens! We cannot remain silent when so many people suffer from lack of support and assistance. That's why we turn to you - kind hearts: help!

The life of little Gocha is a battle between hope and despair, between the thirst for life and the fear of death. In his struggle for survival, we see a reflection of our own vulnerability to life's relentless trials.

Saving this boy becomes a symbol of our own salvation. His struggle reminds us of the value of every moment, of the need to cherish life in all its manifestations. And if we can overcome our own obstacles by supporting him and those in similar situations, then we can not only find meaning in life but also our own humanity.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Abasha Municipality, village Gamogma Zanati.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save this family from imminent death.
