Both in appearance and spirit, Zurab and Galina resemble gentle and innocent blind children navigating through a dense forest teeming with wild and bloodthirsty beasts! And there's not a single strong and kind hero around to protect them! "It's very, very hard to live when everyone wants to deceive you," says Zurab, who endured two years of deceitful treatments from fraudulent doctors, promising to restore his sight while the nerve in his eye had long since perished. REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

She is his eyes, and he is her memory.

The doctors drained the last pennies from the family! Oh, if only we could find them and look into their "rotten" eyes...

Galina has forgotten everything; she can't remember what's what...

Some "beasts" are suing them to take away their apartment, while others are waiting for their death from hunger and cold, because then they will be able to seize the apartment completely for free! That's why the latter have deprived them of any social protection: the elderly receive mere pennies of social assistance and are inquired... no, not about their health or financial situation, since all the funds go toward medications, but only whether they are still alive. "I wish they'd die sooner!"

"She takes me by the hand and leads me. That's how we can't do without each other."

Zurab is 75 years old, and he is completely blind; his wife Galina is 86 years old, and she has dementia. She is his eyes, and he is her memory. Without each other, they couldn't live a single day.

"Time has stopped for us. Right now, we're not living; we're just surviving in this cruel world..."

- How does she take care of you?

Zurab: She holds my hand as if I were a little child, guiding me down the street. I tell her, "Sweetheart, we need to go to the store or the pharmacy." She takes me by the hand, and we go. She needs constant supervision. I worry every time she's not around. Several times she wanted to cook me lunch and burned everything. Thank God we're still alive!

"Old, weak people are a good catch for unkind people."

Zurab: You're probably a kind person, and you wouldn't understand. But many want to improve their situation, and old, weak people are a good catch. Especially when they have an apartment... They want some documents signed, or they'll scare us, or they'll try to persuade us with "kind words." But we're not giving up yet.

- How do you manage to survive?

Zurab: Our pensions are not enough for our medications. Both Galina and I need eye drops: I need them so my eyes don't hurt, and Galina needs them so she doesn't go blind. She has cataracts, and we couldn't save up enough money for the surgery. And to ensure my wife doesn't go without medication, sometimes I ask for alms near the metro. It was very difficult for me to do this, but when there's no other way, you have to resort to such measures.  You'll do anything for your beloved woman! As soon as I gather enough money to buy the medicine, I head home.

"We do the laundry together. I remind her what needs to be done after each task... I love her very much!  She's so good!"

"Galina can see everything, but she can't remember the purpose of things.  She might forget that medicines need to be taken with water... I remind her."

- You speak about your wife with such warmth, as if you were young lovers. - How did you meet?

Zurab: I am a widower, and Galina is a widow. We were introduced to each other by a mutual acquaintance, who said, 'It will be easier for you to live together.'  And that's exactly how it turned out. I never stopped working. In Tbilisi, I worked three jobs: in the morning - on a construction site, in the evening - as a gardener, and at night - as a guard. We lived a very beautiful life, but then problems with my eyes began, so now I'm asking for alms.

Friends, if you believe, as we do in the foundation, that the lives of these beautiful and completely defenseless people are as important to God as any other life, then let us fill the tin cups of these loving old people with our love. We cannot allow these worthy people to become beggars. It is not easy for them to walk.

Their lives, without exaggeration, are in our hands! And that is a great mercy! Our Fund will take on the responsibility for regularly delivering medications to them, covering the cost of doctor consultations, and purchasing food supplies - we will be accountable to you for every tetri spent by us! We will buy beds with mattresses and bedding for them in the coming days! God bless you!

Zurab: We met once, and she invited me to live with her. Now, for 19 years, we haven't been apart. I'm 75, and she's 86. Sometimes we joke that she kidnapped me. Originally from a village, I worked construction in Tbilisi and lived in a shed. Those were the days! In my youth, I was into weightlifting and shot put.

"I'm a widower, Galina is a widow. We met later in life and decided to live together."

- Do you have any children?

Zurab: Galina doesn't, but I have a son from my first marriage. When he got married and had nowhere to live, Galina insisted I bring them to our house. We helped them with the kids, but eventually, living together became cramped and difficult, so they moved out. Now they're in a terrible situation. My son injured his spine and can't work, their allowance was suspended, and my grandkids walk around barefoot, hungry, and in tatters. So, I help them too. I stand at the metro, holding a cup, waiting for kind people. God sends them to me.

"I constantly remind Galina that if something is on the stove, she needs to keep an eye on it. But she forgets even that."

- Well, we're glad you reached out to our Fund! How can we help you?

Zurab: The first thing I'll ask for is medication and groceries.  We also really need a refrigerator. Some medications need to be kept cold.  I would be grateful if you could give us a washing machine. You can't imagine how difficult it is for us to do laundry. We do it together. I tell her to fill the water, then soak the clothes, then lather them. But she forgets everything. Old age is not easy. But it's inevitable. Everyone has to go through this path; we will all grow old someday. What will happen to us - only God knows!

In this unfriendly world, where sometimes it seems that justice is lost and caring for the weak and vulnerable becomes a luxury, the story of Zurab and Galina is a shining example to the contrary.

They are two orphaned souls embracing in the harsh reality where every day is a battle for survival. In their embrace, love, resilience, and endless care for each other thrive.

The fate of Zurab and Galina is a reflection of how true love overcomes all obstacles. Unable to see with his eyes, Zurab keeps the image of Galina in his heart, while she, torn apart by illness's distortion of reality, remembers only him! Him alone!

When the body ages and the mind fades, only love remains - eternal, impervious to time. This reminds us that true wealth lies not in material possessions but in the connection of souls.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Tbilisi. Gldani 3rd Microdistrict, block 8b, apartment 75.
